It's my own spam catcher being difficult. I'm happy with 6A blocking the tidal wave of spammers because I have to manually kill fewer than 5 comments every 10,000 visitors.
I get a max of 1-2 spams a day getting through the Akismet filter into my moderation queue. Akismet has stopped over 510,000 spams in the last 12 months or so. And no CAPTCHA!
I should probably look at removing CAPTCHA and then watch at the spam burden. Having to delete 5 per 10,000 now is not a bother. If that burden tripled, it would still be manageable.
Nice! Have seen active blogs done in MT but never actually seend the dashboard etc. Looks quite nice. Much nicer than Wordpress. Can't comment on the plugins etc though.
@gino128: you don't need plugins for most of the functionality. It's also a hell of a lot more secure and scalable, since there is a layer of abstraction between the backend and the templates. Permission levels for users are very cool as well :)
@liammorrison - if you tell Akismet to just dump suspected spam on comments >30 days old (see http://url.ie/62f), your spam burden disappears. Spam control is no longer an issue for me and Akismet has stopped >512,000 spam comments.
Holy shit... who turned up the blur dial to 100 on the TypePad CAPTCHA??? As if it wasn't already bad enough :-(
Tom, I made my mind up a few weeks ago that I was moving from TypePad to Wordpress but ironically the upgrade trials and tribulations as documented on your's and other's blogs have done a great job of putting me entirely off :-(
@eirepreneur I posted about failing to get thru your captcha about an hour ago. Twitter was open so that's what I used without thinking. So then over to Jaiku to find that the problem has already been noted and discussed. Twitter no longer keeps me in the loop.
Yikes, sorry Niall. I only check Twitter once or twice a day now. I'm gonna have to do something about the captcha so but I don't want re-open the spam gates either.
BTW, I wonder have OCR enabled spambots got that good... i.e., better than the human ability to read?!?!
Unbelievable... no sooner do I complain that TypePad have gone overboard on captcha obfuscation than I get another comment spam. What the hell OCR are the people using? Or do they hire an army of Mechanical Turks?

ooookkaaaayyyy! Do 6A provide a free plgin for wordpress?

Having just switched from Typepad to WP, I am of the opinion that 6A was much better at making sure I never saw spam.

Also, I can not use Firefox/Mac to update blog because of some WP bug. And that's my moan done for the day.

@EirePreneur: I've been speaking to them about the captcha issues.
